A modern and contemporary location with a host of facilities

Originally the south end of the village of Prittlewell, Southend became a leading seaside resort during the Georgian era.

Its proximity to London and easy access by train meant that it became the place to visit for the aspiring Georgian’s and Victorian’s.

The world’s longest pleasure pier at 1.34 miles (2158m) set Southend apart from other seaside destinations and although it has suffered fire damage and ship collision over the years it still survives until this day.

Southend is now a modern and contemporary location with a host of facilities including a brand new university and a host of leisure, retail and entertainment facilities.

The conservation area still brings back memories of a bygone age and a stroll along its beautifully maintained cliff top promenade still provides a pleasant escape from the mundane, 365 day of the year.
